Match Report
Dauntsey's School U12C vs  Bristol Grammar School
On: Saturday, 30 Nov 2024
Venue: Away

A great blend of flair and tenacity, with an (almost) try for the ages.

An enterprising first half saw Dauntsey's take a good lead with three tries as well as coming close to scoring a couple more. BGS managed to pull one back. It was great to see the boys enjoying themselves out there, and everyone contributing in attack and defence.

In the second half BGS introduced a couple of B team players and Dauntsey's found themselves under a lot of pressure. However they defended with great determination as a team and kept their opposition at bay for much of the half. In the end the pressure told with BSG scoring a try. However, we kept our composure and came close to scoring again on a couple of occasions. Most memorably Michael beat one, flipped a delightful pass to Charlie who raced through a gap, kicked past the last defender and slid over the try line to reach the ball just as a BGS also got there. In the event, the referee couldn't be sure who had made the last touch, so wasn't able to award the try. However, Dauntsey's closed out the game with great determination to win by one try.
